Unai Emery keen on move for Ghanaian star.

Aston Villa is actively considering a potential move for Athletic Bilbao's standout talent, Inaki Williams, as the January transfer window approaches, according to sources from Football Insider.

In their quest for a striker in the coming year, the Midlands club views the 29-year-old as a fitting candidate for their requirements.

The connection between Williams and manager Unai Emery from their shared time in La Liga adds weight to the interest in the player.

The pursuit of Williams is part of Villa's strategy to diversify their attacking options and alleviate the heavy reliance on star player Ollie Watkins, who has already netted 11 goals in the 2023-24 campaign.

Despite the interest, a reliable source has cautioned that prying Williams away from Bilbao could be a challenging endeavor, given that he is under contract with the Spanish club until June 2028.

In the current season, Williams has showcased his versatility by featuring on the right-hand side of Bilbao's three-pronged attack. He has consistently started every game in the Spanish top flight, contributing five goals and three assists.

Moreover, Williams has demonstrated his ability to lead the line, exemplified by his appearances as a striker for Ghana, earning eight caps for the Black Stars.
